Battle of the Châteauguay National Historic Site (Lieu historique national de la Bataille-de-la-Châteauguay), 6 km (4 mi.) e. on Hwy. 138 at 2371 Rivière Châteauguay, commemorates the battle of Oct. 26, 1813, when Lt. Col. Charles-Michel de Salaberry and his force of 300 Canadians stopped 3,000 invading U.S. troops. Interpretation center exhibits analyze the background of the battle and the living conditions of its participants. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
