Plaisance Falls Park (Parc des Chutes de Plaisance) is 5 km (3 mi.) n. on rue Montée Papineau from jct. Hwy. 148, then just w. on ch. Malo; a heritage center is at 276 rue Desjardins. In the late 1800s a large sawmill powered by the falls operated here, but it was torn down in the early 20th century. Today the park encompasses observation points, including the 63-metre (207-ft.) falls observation center, and a hiking trail for visitors lured by the natural beauty of 67-metre (220-ft.) Plaisance Falls. The Plaisance Heritage Center houses archeological displays and other exhibits that detail regional history.
Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted.
