I love the history of this 1890s chateau. You can spend hours walking the facilities looking at archival photographs; there are even tours.
AAA Inspector Notes
Turrets and verdigris copper roofs distinguish this landmark château constructed in 1893. The hotel, particularly from the upper-floor rooms, has a commanding view of the St. Lawrence River. Guest rooms vary in size and feature classically styled décor with upscale bedding and marble- and granite-trimmed bathrooms. Executive rooms, located on the top floors, feature a modern take on classic décor and feature a private lounge with dedicated concierge staff and special amenities. The public areas have a myriad of intriguing details. There are exhibits of 18th-century artifacts, such as wine bottles and china tea cups, recovered during hotel construction. The lobby has a friendly ambassador dog who just loves to be petted. One of the restaurants is guarded by a stuffed polar bear that stands disturbingly close to a glass locker stocked with charcuterie and cheeses.
Smoke free premises. 611 units, some two bedrooms. 18 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).
