Sherbrooke Historical Society (Société d'histoire de Sherbrooke) is at 275 rue Dufferin. A former postal office built in 1885 houses the city's archives as well as two exhibition halls featuring interactive historical displays and an exhibit about the Frontenac Power Plant. Self-guiding iPad or iPod heritage tours are available through the interpretation center. Guided walks around the Magog River Gorge also can be arranged. Note: The attraction is closed through December 2017 for renovations; phone ahead to confirm schedule. Guided tours are available.

Hours: Mon.-Fri. 9-5, Sat.-Sun. 10-5, late June-early Sept.; Tues.-Fri. 9-noon and 1-5, Sat.-Sun. 1-5, rest of year. Allow 1 hour minimum.
