St-Félicien Wild Animal Zoo (Zoo sauvage de St-Félicien) is 5 km (3 mi.) n.w. on Hwy. 167 toward Chibougamau, at 2230 boul. du Jardin. A river winds through 485 hectares (1,198 acres) of wooded and landscaped areas. Exhibits include about 1,000 specimens of more than 75 species of birds, mammals and reptiles of the Northern Hemisphere. Fauna roam freely in natural settings.

The visitor center contains two large movie theaters, one with a giant screen and another that shows special effects films. A train takes visitors through a North American habitat where there are re-creations of a lumberjack camp, a trading post, a First Nations village and a 19th-century farmhouse. Other highlights include a children's farm and water games.

Pets are not permitted.

Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 3 hours, 30 minutes minimum.
