St-Ours Canal National Historic Site (Lieu historique national du canal de St-Ours) is on Rte. 133, 2 km (1.2 mi.) s. at 2930 ch. des Patriotes. Visitors may view the operations of a functioning canal lock, used primarily by pleasure craft navigating the Richelieu River. The former superintendent's house on this 1849 canal contains an exhibit detailing the development of the Richelieu River Canal System.
Free in 2017 to celebrate Canada's anniversary of Confederation. Otherwise $3.48 (per vehicle).
Hours: Canal site daily dawn-dusk. Boats are raised and lowered in the locks most days between 9 and 4 (10 and 6, mid-June to early Oct.).
