Huron-Wendat Museum is at 15 Place de la Rencontre. Bilingual interactive displays, photographs and artifacts reveal the history of the Huron-Wendat First Nations community. The lower level of the museum houses temporary art exhibits. During the 2-hour guided Discovery Tour, visitors explore such Old Wendake cultural sites as the Tsawenhohi House (Maison Tsawenhohi), built in the early 1800s for Grand Chief Nicolas Tsawenhohi Vincent; the 1730 Notre-Dame-de-Lorette Church; and the Kabir Kouba waterfall. Guided tours are available. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
Museum only $12.10; $11 (ages 65+ and students with ID); $6.05 (ages 7-17); $32.55 (family, two adults and two children). Discovery Tour (includes museum) $17.50; $15.75 (ages 65+ and students with ID); $11.50 (ages 7-16); $47.25 (family, two adults and two children). Reservations are recommended.
Hours: Museum daily 9-5 (also Thurs.-Sat. 5-6), late June-Labour Day; daily 9-5, day after Labour Day-late Oct.; Mon.-Tues. 10-noon and 1-3:30, Wed. and Fri. 10-3:30, rest of year. Discovery Tour schedule varies; phone ahead.
