Pros: The Rooms were very spacious and clean. I really liked the toiletries. The service at the restaurant was great as well as the food and drinks. The beach area was nicely groomed
Cons: Only complaint were the moss covered steps leading in and out of the ocean. They were very slippery to the point where I fell.

Pros: Location, cleanliness and overall assistance of the staff
Cons: Rooms were smaller than expected and there was no wifi available in the rooms. To get internet you had to be in the lobby or another public place. That was ridiculous and not worth the cost paid for the rooms.

Pros: The food in the restaurant was good.
Cons: The hotel is incredibly run-down. There were electrical problems, including a/c in our room not working at first, and a light that would not turn off at all--it would just flicker if you turn off the switch. We had to unscrew the bulb at night to get darkness. They upgraded us to an ocean view room. The room was the same as the garden view room, just higher up. The room was crowded, with a sofa in front of what looked like a wardrobe or Murphy bed. The room was also very dark. The bathroom was very cramped. The door opens into it and crowds it. The bathroom has a window onto the hall that would not completely close and thus lets a/c out. The shower head was very low--about 5' high--my boyfriend could not stand under it. The water would also suddenly get incredibly hot--very unpleasant. The hotel grounds were also not nice. The main view is of cruise ships, but that didn't bother us. I think they get a lot of day-pass cruise ship guests there (it's next to the international port) but we didn't stay there during the day because the grounds were so unpleasant (beach area did not look nice), so I don't know. One pool seemed to be under repair when we arrived. The main pool looked very uninviting. There were also frequent dirty dishes in the hallway. This was the first time I have tried to cancel a reservation after arriving at a hotel. I was unsuccessful. We just had to put up with it. We ended up paying for a pricy private beach club for one of the days, just to have a reasonable beach/pool experience.

Pros: The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. There were activities daily which I enjoyed including a free snorkeling tour of the harbour, crafts and an evening Mexican folkloric show. The lobby, restaurant and pool area were well designed and convenient.
