Pros: Some staff were above and beyond excellent. Kayaking was free and fun. Not far from playa del carmen. Beach was pretty. Pool was nice. Mattresses were so soft and squishy (not a plus for everyone though). Cleanliness was on point. Always had water and stocked minibar. Turn down service was extremely efficient.
Cons: For the price tag the resort could have been better. The entertainment was sub par. The staff were either really amazing or terrible. Wifi is horrible to non existent. Rooms were average with very soft mattresses. Food was average to poor. Taxi services affiliated with the resort will rob you blind. Too far from the airport.

Pros: The rooms are beautiful, and beds are incredibly uncomfortable. The staff are very friendly, and will go out of their way to make sure you have what you need. The prices in the shops are moderately fair, but I found to get your pictures from the resort, did cost a lot, $20.00 US per photo, so choose wisely. All the restaurants had amazing food! I would highly recommend this resort to anyone! It is by far the best resort I've ever been to. Thanks Dreams staff for a wonderful holiday
Cons: Some nights local vendors are allowed on to the grounds,to bring in their goods & crafts for purchase/barter. Be carefull! as they are not part of the resort staff, and try to charge a small fortune. We found some vendors to be very rude and aggressively pushy.

Cons: Had clothing missing from my room. Reported it was told someone would get back with me in 72 hours no one very touch base with me. Report the day we were leaving. Also my granddaughter had $95 missing from her room. Was very disappointed because there was no follow up as promised !!!!

Pros: We mainly ate at buffet for breakfast, and the food was great. Lots of choices, fresh fruits and vegetables, Mexican food, eggs, everything. All the restaurants we went for lunch and dinner were pretty good, too. One restaurant--Hibachi--required reservation, and had limited seating, and we could not get in. I would recommend you make a reservation right away after you arrive, if you like the style of food. That is the Japanese style that chef in front of you cooks for you. It looked really fun and the food looked very good. We liked Seaside Grill a lot. That restaurant had a nice view of beach and the food was unpretentious and tasted very good. The beach in the area naturally had lots of algae, but on the hotel premise, they cleaned it up every day. Maid came twice a day to clean, make beds, and bring fresh towels. Although we didn't rent a car, taxi rate was set at the hotel to main traveler's spots, so we didn't have to worry about being charged too much. Probably it was overpriced compared to local price, but we didn't mind, and we tipped generously because the drivers always did a great job. It was reasonable price from American standard. Taking taxi by yourself is much more reasonable than joining a tour. For most tourist spots, you don't need a guide. We went Xel-ha and Coba by taxi with no problem (if you want a guide at Coba, you can get one there). We joined one snorkeling and cenote tour, but that was worth going with a guide since it was a little hard to find good spots. All the staff were very helpful, and tried to accommodate our need with smile. Overall, we had a great vacation.
Cons: Any resorts try to sell you a membership of some kind. Participating promotional talk is voluntary, and we agreed to do it, because we were vaguely interested. But they pushed a little too much. It was supposed to be one-hour talk, but they kept holding the detail, and finally when we found about the detail, it wasn't for us. We said no, but it took 2 hours--such a waste on the first day of vacation. They really pressured us to sign the contract without giving us enough time to think it over. Overly aggressive promotion going there.

Pros: The staff were all very friendly, especially the bar staff. The grounds were meticulously maintained.
Cons: I didn't realize that it was such a long drive from the airport/attractions. The restaurants had the same menu daily. I think for that amount of money you should be able to get more variety. Also I wasn't too fond of the fact that I couldn't get a steak for lunch. You had to wait for the dinner menu. Again I think that for the money they should offer more options.
