Audubon Society of Rhode Island's Environmental Education Center is 4 mi. n. on SR 114 at 1401 Hope St. The state's largest aquarium, the center features a life-size model of a right whale, a tide pool tank containing a rare blue lobster and nature trails on a 29-acre wildlife refuge. Environmental exhibits depict Rhode Island's natural habitats, such as woodlands, wetlands and the shoreline of Narragansett Bay. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
$6; $5 (ages 65+); $4 (ages 4-12).
Hours: Daily 9-5, May-Sept.; Wed.-Sat. 9-5, Sun. noon-5, rest of year. Closed Jan. 1, Easter, July 4, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
