Linden Place Mansion, 500 Hope St., is an 1810 Federal mansion built for Gen. George DeWolf. The house later was occupied by the general's descendants, including the prominent Colt family and actress Ethel Barrymore. Numerous dignitaries, among them four U.S. presidents, were entertained at the antique-furnished home. The 1.8-acre site also features a ballroom, carriage barn, summer house, bronze sculptures and rose arbors.

$8; $6 (ages 60+ and students with ID); $5 (ages 6-12).
Hours
Tues.-Sat. 10-4, Sun. noon-4, first weekend in May-Columbus Day and in Dec.; by appointment Nov.-Apr. Closed July 4, Christmas Eve and Christmas. Allow 30 minutes minimum.
