Prescott Farm is 2.5 mi. n. of jct. SRs 114 and 138 at 2009 W. Main Rd. The landscape, windmill and farm buildings provide a glimpse of early Rhode Island. During the Revolutionary War, Gen. Richard Prescott, commander of the British forces in Rhode Island, was captured here. Visitors can enjoy the grounds, including the duck pond, culinary herb garden, the 18th-century kitchen garden and outdoor educational signs. Tours include the 1730 guardhouse and the 1812 windmill.
