AAA Inspector Notes
This impressive circa 1909 brick mansion is the place to stay if you're looking for luxury but want to stay close to the busy nightlife of Brick Marketplace, which is just a block away. Guests are greeted with a glass of champagne and are brought to their rooms by a bellman. All of the rooms are individually decorated suites with at least 300-square-feet of space. Super-soft 400-thread-count triple-sheet bedding topped with a duvet, a choice of six different pillow types and a bedside 'scent pot' will help you sleep well. The rooftop deck and bar is the perfect place to grab a cocktail and watch the sunset sink over the harbor. Smoke free premises. 33 units, some two bedrooms. 4 stories, interior corridors. Pros: Eggs Vanderbilt was delicious! As was all of the food and drink we had. Service was excellent, and room was spacious and comfortable despite that it wasn't a suite. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Cons: Nothing really-a lower room price would've been great, but price is what you would expect.

Pros: The hotel is stunning, our suite absolutely gorgeous and the staff charming and helpful - couldn't do enough for us. Its located in central Newport - perfectly located to walk around and explore the area. A cocktail on the rooftop bar as the sun goes down is a little piece of heaven.
Cons: There is no getting away from the fact that it is extremely expensive to stay (anywhere) in Newport in the summer, and its pretty hard to justify $700 for one night in (an albeit lovely) hotel. Also it did niggle that there is a $20 charge for the parking - really, when we're already paying that for the room, why is the parking not included?! That fee put me off a more generous tip to the very helpful porters.
