Classic Historic. Known as the oldest operating tavern in America, this Colonial home's clapboard walls, gambrel roof and cavernous fireplaces are some of the typical elements seen today as they were in the 17th century. The romantic setting is enhanced with candlelit tables and roaring fires. Fresh native ingredients are used when possible. Signature dishes include their clear RI clam chowder, butter-poached lobster, Colorado rack of lamb and beef Wellington topped with pâté of foie gras. The staff is welcoming.
