First Baptist Church in America, 75 N. Main St. at Waterman St., was established by Roger Williams in 1638 and is the oldest Baptist church in America. Faithfully restored, the 1775 structure boasts classical Georgian-style architecture. A Waterford crystal chandelier dating from 1792 hangs in the sanctuary.
