John Brown House Museum, 52 Power St., was built in 1788 and was the home of wealthy 18th-century merchant and manufacturer John Brown. This restored three-story Georgian-style house is furnished with fine examples of Rhode Island furniture, decorative arts and Chinese ceramics. Guided tours are available.
$10; $8 (ages 65+ and students with ID); $6 (ages 7-17).
Hours: Guided 1-hour tours Tues.-Fri. at 1:30 and 3, Sat. at 10:30, noon, 1:30 and 3, Apr.-Nov.; Sat. at 10, noon, 1:30 and 3, Tues.-Fri. by appointment, rest of year. Audio tours available until 3:30. Closed Dec. 24-Jan. 10 (except Jan. 2-3). Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
