Roger Williams Park Botanical Center, 1000 Elmwood Ave. in Roger Williams Park, is a 12,000-square-foot facility consisting of a pair of greenhouses displaying New England's largest public indoor presentation of botanical gardens. The Conservatory is home to a variety of exotic and tropical plants, large palm trees and two fountains; The Mediterranean Room offers begonia, orchid and carnivorous plant displays, a koi pond, a small desert area and a section of Mediterranean herbs and fruits often used in culinary practices. Several perennial and shrub gardens line the perimeter of the large conservatory.
Guided tours are available and require a reservation at least one month in advance.
