This is my favorite place in the city for supremely inventive and tasty New American cuisine. I take all my out-of-town foodie friends here.
AAA Inspector Notes
Located across the street from the Trinity Repertory Company, this is a great place to come before or after a show to enjoy some of the most imaginative modern dining in the city. The standard four-course menu is portioned just right so you can enjoy all the offerings, along with surprise extras that typically include an amuse-bouche and confections such as mini whoopie pies at the end. The notable chef changes the menu often so as to use the freshest ingredients whenever possible. This place is definitely for those who don't mind rubbing elbows or sharing conversations with their neighbors. There are no tables at the restaurant, just 19 seats along a U-shaped illuminated marble bar. The dining room is bright white with a contemporary chandelier and mirrored accents on walls, creating a chic urban feel. Servers are very knowledgeable with the menu and typically describe what you’re about to enjoy as they present each course. They also double as bartenders and can make some creative cocktails per your requests.
