Originally a stagecoach inn, this property has been transformed into a quaint country-style B&B. Most guest rooms are located on the second floor and have a gas fireplace and a shared back deck overlooking a lovely pond and wooded area. Three guest rooms are located on the ground level and offer easy drive-up entrances. Retail shops and office space are located in between on the main level. Guests who bring their own fishing poles can fish from the trout-stocked pond located behind the inn.
Smoke free premises. 12 units. 3 stories (no elevator), interior/exterior corridors.
Pros: Great location in rural southern Rhode Island. We were amazed to find freshly baked and really home made (literally) cakes set out for breakfast -- still warm. Lovely view of the pond and Wood River behind the place. I posted a photo of the view on Facebook and the photo received lots of positive remarks. The bar/restaurant across the street was also a plus for late arrival - good food and nice selection of beer.
Pros: The place was absolutely tranquil and easy to find. The room was beautifully set out and what a lovely view of the pond. We found Deb really sweet and the homemade breakfast was great. It was such a wonderful place to be after the bustle of New York.
Pros: The staff and location
Pros: Cozy fireplace. Fun outside deck. Entertainment & dining across street. Helpful staff. Restful night -- can't hear traffic from nearby street. Sweet breakfast choices. Will stay again.
