AAA Editor Notes
Chaplin Nature Centre is at the western approach to town via Hwy. 1. The center is in the midst of the Chaplin Lake area, which encompasses some 6,000 hectares (15,000 acres) of inland saline water. More than 30 species of shorebirds, some endangered, either rest and refuel here during migratory journeys or nest and raise their young in the summer, feasting on brine shrimp that teem in the salty, shallow water.

Guided van tours are available; binoculars are provided.

Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
