More than 30 species of shorebirds, some endangered, either rest and refuel here during migratory journeys or nest and raise their young in the summer, feasting on brine shrimp that teem in the salty, shallow water. Guided van tours are available; binoculars are provided. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
Center displays by donation. Guided 30-minute tour $23.81, 2-hour tour $42.86. Reservations are recommended.
Hours: Daily 9-5, Victoria Day weekend-Aug. 31.
