Ancient Echoes Interpretive Centre, on 1st Ave., depicts the area's natural and native history. Exhibits include fossils, aboriginal artifacts and examples of taxidermy. An art installation tells about the disappearance and resurgence of the buffalo, and works by Canadian artists are on display. Visitors can also drive to a site of 1,800-year-old petroglyphs located 3.2 kilometres (2 mi.) away. A guided hike offers views of scenic prairie valleys, glacial ravines and freshwater springs. A video of the ravines is also available for viewing. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
Combined ravine and indoor tour $14.29; $11.43 (ages 5-12 and 65+). Cash or check only. Advance reservations are required for the archeological site tour.
