Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery is at 601 and 602 Main St. Housed in a restored, early 20th-century post office (a national historic site), it contains a re-created telegraph station, a Sports Hall of Fame and displays about local history. An art gallery directly across the street features the work of local and regional artists, presents traveling exhibits and also serves as a performing arts venue. Time: Allow 45 minutes minimum.

Hours: Both facilities open Tues.-Sat. 10-5, Sun. 1-5, July-Aug.; Tues.-Sat. 1-5, rest of year. Closed statutory holidays.
