AAA Editor Notes
The John Mark Verdier House Museum, 801 Bay St. across from Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park, is an 1804 Federal-style home constructed for John Verdier, a prominent merchant and planter. The home features much of its original architectural detailing and is furnished in period. Guided tours focus on the Verdier family, the architecture of the house, the social history of those who lived and worked on the property, the impact of the Civil War and the bulding’s 20th-century uses.
Guided tours are available.
