AAA Editor Notes
The Pearl Fryar Topiary Garden is at 145 Broad Acres Rd. Visitors with a penchant for creative gardening can walk among 300 whimsical topiary plants in this award-winning, 3-acre topiary garden. Fryar, an amateur gardener, has gained national recognition as a self-taught plant artist; he was the subject of the 2006 documentary “A Man Named Pearl.” Fryar also fabricates sculptures and fountains out of scrap metal; several pieces of “junk art” also are on-site.
A brochure describing a self-guiding tour of the garden are in the kiosk near the north driveway entrance.
