Kings Mountain State Park is at 1277 Park Rd. The park's 7,000 acres comprise several miles of forested hiking trails; two lakes, 65-acre Lake York and 13-acre Lake Crawford; a campground; and equestrian facilities. Also on-site, the replica 1800s yeoman farm features a barn, a cotton gin, vegetable and herb gardens, and a blacksmith/carpenter shop. Living-history demonstrations are offered seasonally. Recreational activities include boating, fishing and horseback riding. Pets on leash are allowed. Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted.
$2; $1.25 (S.C. senior citizen residents with ID); free (ages 0-15).
Hours: Grounds daily 8-6 (also 6-8 p.m., early Mar.-early Nov.). Self-guiding tours are available daily 9-5, Memorial Day-Labor Day; Sat.-Sun. 9-5, Apr. 1-day before Memorial Day and day after Labor Day-Oct. 31.
