I had read reviews mentioning construction, so I called ahead to see if there was still construction going on. I was told only the front desk area was still under construction and that would be complete April 1st. It wasn't complete on April 2nd and I overheard them tell someone else that it would be complete in two weeks. Strike 1. When I tried to check in at 4pm, I was told that my room was not ready and that I would be put on the list and would have a 15-20 minute wait. No apology for wait. After 20 minutes, I went to front desk to check. Because I was pressing the issue, I was given a room, but I saw that I had not advanced on list. So, I believe it would have been more than an hour to get the room had I not been persistent. Strike 2. There were posted notices that the elevator would not be operational between 11pm and 7am. It was still not operating at 8am when I left the hotel. Strike 3. The desk staff was not very welcoming and did not convey concern about these issues.
Pros: The room was fine.
Cons: Front desk service.

Pros: This hotel had a beautiful view of the waterfront, live music, helpful staff and a nice pool. The standard 2 queen room was very large, and very clean. The hotel was close to downtown without the downtown prices. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Cons: I didn't like the breakfast buffet very much. There weren't many options and the options we had ran out & took staff a long time to refill. We felt the buffet was over-priced. I would recommend researching breakfast spots in Charleston & eating elsewhere.

Pros: I love the location of this hotel, directly on the riverfront at the marina. Beautiful views abound. The hotel is less than 10 minutes from downtown and offers free parking and a shuttle. Dining room staff are great.
Cons: The hotel is very nice and the location is convenient, however, the front desk staff members are not the friendliest. Marriott employees usually have that "it's my pleasure" attitude but not at this property.

Pros: The location was nice being close to downtown but out of the hustle and bustle.
Cons: This hotel was under construction/staff was very rude. I awoke to a noise around 7 am and found that the vents in the ceiling were pouring water into the room. They told me that they couldn't get me another room for hours and asked that I leave.
