Pros: Most terrible way to spend $400. We only enjoyed looking at the ballrooms. The room itself was gloomy, nothing more than ordinary, and wreaked of cigarettes. The location is awful, nothing but half dressed college students staggering around at night being loud and inconsiderate of guests. The view was decent at best. The overpriced breakfast was not anything to write home about, and they forgot my husband's toast.

If you want to really experience the best of Charleston, stay at the John Rutledge Inn.

Pros: Beautiful corner room on the 10th floor that had a great view of Charleston. Old hotel with a lot of charm.
Cons: The bathroom was so tiny, and had a funky toilet.
