AAA Inspector Notes
Inspector Pick (Eclectic/Unusual): I was wowed by the number of on-site amenities from art galleries to a wine blending room where I could concoct, label and cork my own vintage.
The property features heavily embellished rooms, original artwork throughout, two on-site art galleries and a rooftop restaurant, lounge and patio with panoramic views of the downtown area. Some rooms overlook the art courtyard while others offer city views. A wine tasting room and vintners rooms are also available, where wine blending classes are held for guests.
Smoke free premises. 50 units. 4 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).
Pros: Great location, unique room, comfy bed, spacious atrium room.
Cons: No pool, rather pricey but worth the splurge for something different(one night max)
Pros: visually incredible!
Cons: the only problem was that booking got my name totally wrong. the front desk finally figured it out.
Cons: Having to park in road waiting on balet
Rude front desk staff, great...
Pros: The bed was absolutely amazing! And my two little valet guys were sooooo nice and knew me by face and name! The bed and my two guys were the only things that made the stay worth-while!
Cons: The blonde headed chick with her hair constantly twisted up in a bun was so RUDE! For the money I paid to stay there(almost 1400.00), I expected the staff to be extremely friendly and her disposition was just extremely nasty. And even when I told a manager on my departing day, she did nothing to accommodate but instead said "I'm so sorry about that" and gave me my receipt. They deserve a zero in that category. Plus my room had no view of the city, it's an art room instead.
Frequent Visitor To Charleston, Excellent...
Pros: Overall, this is an amazing property. Great location in proximity to King Street and Market Street. The rooms were beautifully appointed and the spacious shower and tub were delightful.
Cons: The valets were a bit spacey but nonetheless attentive. Some of the lighting in the room was blunt, could have been softer.
Don't stay there: nice hotel,...
Pros: The hotel is very nicely decorated and makes a great first impression.
Cons: We forgot 4 jackets in the room on the day of departure. Their policy is to not call regarding forgotten items, so when we found out I called them. Front office confirmed they found 4 jackets and that they would FedEx them to me right away. Sounds good. I called back 10 days later as they had not arrived yet. They did not know about it, they stated they would call me back. They didn't, but when I called in the next day, they said they just FedEx'd them that morning. Another 9 days later I call in, still not FedEx'd, they can only find 3 of the 4 jackets and will allegedly send them out now. When I ask what happened to the 4th jacket, they claim it was never there, but they will send the 3 jackets today. When I ask to speak to the General Manager of the hotel they say they currently have none.
Maybe someone stole it in the 3 weeks since we stayed there and they do not admit it. This is very questionable service and management, so I do not recommend anybody to stay at this hotel. This is not acceptable, especially for a hotel that claims to be high class in Charleston.
Pros: Excellent front desk staff. Everyone extremely friendly. Beds were very comfortable.
Perfect place to celebrate our...
Cons: We were next door to noisy barking dogs! To the staffs' credit they did "quiet" the dogs and removed some dining charges as we concluded our stay.
Pros: Beautiful hotel, with a nice rooftop restaurant/ bar.
Cons: I was charged 130 dollars of taxes and fees on top of my 300$ per night room rate, including a mandatory 30$ per night valet parking fee.
Experience elegance but be patient!
Pros: Staff very nice; accommodation excellent
Cons: Nice staff very unorganized; almost like they needed training- no turndown though it was requested - room not completely cleaned, like mid way interrupted and left only one towel?
