The historic charm, intimate seating and incredible service is why I make this the destination for special occasions.
AAA Inspector Notes
Historic. The elegant dining spot resides in the carriage house tucked behind the stately Wentworth Mansion. The beautifully redone building now is an opulent space with French doors that open to velvet booths, a stone fireplace and romantic candlelight. The chef's fine, upscale Southern cuisine changes with the season to incorporate only the freshest ingredients. A representative dish is venison with sunchoke hash, sour cherry sauce and sunflower seed butter served under a glass dome of smoked sage. Other standouts include chestnut-crusted rainbow trout and the Piedmontese beef with truffle potato croquette. End your meal on a heavenly note with any of the uniquely delicious desserts, like the squash cake with blackberries, honey pine nut butter and white chocolate "honey comb." From start to finish, your senses will be invigorated by the experience. Enjoy!
