Fort Hill, at 102 Fort Hill St. at jct. Calhoun Dr. at Clemson University, was purchased by John C. Calhoun during his first term as U.S. vice president to John Quincy Adams. His son-in-law, Thomas G. Clemson, founded the university that now occupies the former plantation. Many original furnishings belonging to Calhoun and Clemson decorate the house.

Guided tours are available.
