Robert Mills House and Gardens, 1616 Blanding St., was designed by Robert Mills and houses a decorative arts collection. The 1823 house features formal English gardens and rooms furnished in the Regency style. Mills, the first federal architect of the United States, served seven presidents. His many notable designs include the Washington Monument and the U.S. Treasury Building in Washington, D.C. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 45 minutes minimum.
$8; $6 (ages 65+ and active military and college students with ID); $5 (ages 6-17). Combination ticket with Hampton-Preston Mansion and Gardens, Mann-Simons Site and Woodrow Wilson Family Home $28; $20 (ages 65+ and active military and college students with ID); $16 (ages 6-17).
Hours: Guided tours are offered on the hour Tues.-Sat. 10-4, Sun. 1-5. Closed major holidays.
