Joanne T. Rainsford Discovery Center

Joanne T. Rainsford Discovery Center is at 405 Main St. Exhibits relating to the local history of Edgefield County are displayed in a restored 1840s farmhouse that has been relocated from Trenton. Topics showcased include natural history, early settlement, the Revolutionary and Civil wars and the history of cotton in the state. An extensive exhibit about Strom Thurmond includes personal memorabilia.

The center also houses a community theater company.
