Hopsewee Plantation, 494 Hopsewee Rd., was the residence of Thomas Lynch, a South Carolina delegate to the Continental Congress, and the birthplace of his son Thomas Jr., who signed the Declaration of Independence. The 1740 plantation house has period furnishings.

House $20; $17.50 (ages 65+); $10.50 (ages 12-17); $7.50 (ages 5-11). Reservations are recommended.
