Hopsewee Plantation, 494 Hopsewee Rd., was the residence of Thomas Lynch, a South Carolina delegate to the Continental Congress, and the birthplace of his son Thomas Jr., who signed the Declaration of Independence. The 1740 plantation house has period furnishings. Food is available.
House $20; $17.50 (ages 65+); $10.50 (ages 12-17); $7.50 (ages 5-11). Reservations are recommended.
Hours: Tues.-Fri. 10-4, Sat. 11-4, Feb.-Nov. Closed Jan. 1, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
