Originally established in 1944 to satisfy the dietary desires of Italian-American servicemen stationed in the South, the family-owned regional chain serves Italian standards as well as steak and seafood. Specialties are served with a complimentary glass of house wine, fresh bread and salad. The atmosphere is inviting and mellow. Specialties of the house include a signature salad and sandwiches and the 10-ounce, dry-aged rib-eye, which is wonderfully tender.
