The owners of the Coastal Kitchen expanded into this distinctly different concept next door for upscale dinner service. The short yet diverse menu features the chef's unique interpretations of Southern cuisine, such as country-style pâté with pickled dilly beans, curry fried chicken, slow-roasted pulled duck with wild mushrooms, and smoked-Gouda macaroni and cheese—all freshly prepared to order. There also is a good wine selection to complement your meal. I began with the diver scallop with risotto fritter, and it was absolutely as good as it looked on the plate. They also had my favorite soup, Manhattan clam chowder. I couldn't resist, and am happy to report it was great as well. I finished my meal with the flounder, and all I can say is my selection this night was outstanding in all aspects. It's a small place with very big food.
