AAA Editor Notes
Sumter County Museum, 122 N. Washington St., is in the restored 1916 Edwardian-style Williams-Brice residence. Period rooms contain textiles, decorative and fine arts, and articles that belonged to Gen. Thomas Sumter's family as well as displays about American military history.

On the grounds are formal gardens and a re-created pioneer homestead featuring an 1800s house and commissary along with several reproduction buildings.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
