Sand Lake National Wildlife Refuge is 8 mi. n. on CR 16 at 39650 Sand Lake Dr. The 21,498-acre refuge is home to 266 species of birds, 40 species of mammals and various fish, reptiles and amphibians. Year-round recreational opportunities include wildlife observation, fishing, hunting and hiking. An auto tour route traverses the refuge. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
