Days of '76 Museum is at 18 Seventy Six Dr. The museum showcases the Days of '76 Celebration, which began in 1924 as a way to pay homage to Deadwood's early residents who came to strike gold in the Black Hills; it has since grown into an annual event with a parade and rodeo. The museum features displays of carriages, firearms and rare Native American artifacts as well as exhibits illustrating Deadwood's enduring friendship with Buffalo Bill Cody. Flash photography is not permitted.

Hours: Daily 9-5, May-Sept.; Tues.-Sun. 10-4, rest of year. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas. Allow 1 hour minimum.
