Big Bend Dam and Lake Sharpe are on SR 47, w. of jct. SRs 34/47. Both are part of the development of the Missouri River Basin to provide flood control, irrigation and power. The dam is of rolled-earth fill and reaches a height of 95 feet; the total output of the powerhouse is 480,000 kilowatts. The reservoir, with a shoreline of 200 miles, is noted for walleye fishing.
