Palisades State Park, 1.5 mi. s. off SR 11, is noted for the red and pink Sioux quartzite rock formations on both banks of Split Rock Creek, which runs through the park. Outcroppings range from shelves and pinnacles to 50-foot vertical cliffs. Facilities within the park include tent and RV camping, cabins, a group lodge, four hiking trails, rock climbing and summer nature programs.
