Bear Country U.S.A. is 8 mi. s. on US 16. This drive-through park features a variety of North American wildlife. Elk, wolves, Rocky Mountain goats, bighorn sheep and buffalo roam freely in their native habitat. The highlight of the tour is one of the largest privately owned collections of black bears. Babyland is a walk-through area that allows visitors to view park offspring and other small animals; a shuttle is available for the physically impaired.

Visitors must stay in their cars with the doors and windows completely closed. The animals are wild, and feeding them is prohibited. Cars are available for motorcyclists. A shuttle is available for the physically impaired.

$16; $13 (ages 62+ and active military with ID); $10 (ages 5-12); $60 (maximum per private vehicle).

Daily 7:30-7, Memorial Day-early Aug.; 8-6, early May-day before Memorial Day and early Aug.-Labor Day; 8-5, day after Labor Day-Sept. 30; 9-5, late Apr.-early May; 9-4, mid-Apr. to late Apr. and in Oct.; 9-3, Nov. 1-late Nov. (weather permitting). Phone ahead to confirm schedule. Allow 2 hours minimum.
