The Journey Museum and Learning Center, at 222 New York St., offers a high-tech trek through time and space, from the far reaches of the universe to the geologic formation of the Black Hills more than 2.5 billion years ago to the development of the Western frontier.
Housed within a single building, the collections encompass geology and paleontology artifacts in The Museum of Geology; paleo cultures in The South Dakota State Archaeological Research Center; Lakota arts and crafts in The Sioux Indian Museum; Native American artifacts of The Duhamel Collection; and collections depicting pioneer life in The Minnilusa Pioneer Museum. Interactive space science programs are presented daily in the Wells Fargo Theater, Memorial Day through Labor Day.
