Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science is at 301 S. Main Ave. at jct. 11th St. This multipurpose cultural and entertainment center features art collections, a 1,800-seat performing arts venue and a hands-on science museum, all housed in a restored, historic high school building. The Kirby Science Discovery Center boasts more than 100 interactive exhibits divided among seven themed areas. Giant-screen films projected on a 60-foot domed screen are shown in the Wells Fargo CineDome Theater. The Visual Arts Center offers seven galleries of changing art exhibits and a permanent collection of works by regionally and nationally notable artists. Traveling Broadway shows as well as dance, musical and vocal performances take the stage at Husby Performing Arts Center. Food is available. Time: Allow 3 hours minimum.
Kirby Science Discovery Center (includes Mission Films in the Wells Fargo CineDome) $12; $6 (ages 3-17). Visual Arts Center $7; $3.50 (ages 3-17); free on Tues. 10-5 and Sat. 10-noon. Combination ticket (Kirby Science Discovery Center, Visual Arts Center, Mission Films in the Wells Fargo CineDome) $13; $7 (ages 3-17). Children ages 0-12 must be with an adult. Admission rates are subject to change and special exhibitions may require additional admission.
