Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens and Mineral Baths

Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens and Mineral Baths is about 1.5 mi. (2.4 km) s.e. on Diamond Rd. King Louis XVI of France had bathhouses built for his troops at this site just prior to the French Revolution. Visitors can bathe in the mineral-rich pools. The exotic tropical garden is filled with colorful flora and fauna. A path that winds through landscaped grounds leads to a magnificent waterfall; the unique coloration of the rocks is due to mineral deposits left by the streaming water. A nature trail takes visitors past a restored sugar mill and water wheel.
