Guests are welcomed to the property with complimentary rum punch. The open-air lobby and restaurants are located under large, thatch-roof palapa structures. Rooms have a balcony or patio with water views. Though frequented by boat enthusiasts who anchor their sailboats in the harbor and European travelers (hence the tea makers in most rooms), a couple or family also will enjoy their time here. Wood plantation shutters allow you to fall asleep to the sound of the crashing waves.
Smoke free premises. 39 units, some efficiencies. 2 stories (no elevator), exterior corridors.
Pros: Its like Paradise. Gorgeour resort, great staff. I had a spa treatment and i loved the professional and kind terapist.
family with young children
Pros: Rooms are wide and nice, with direct access to a very good beach. People is nice and flexible, we arrived at 7 AM on the dock and surprisingly the hotel was there to pick us up and we checked in at this time. We checked out at 3:30 PM, because our boat was at 4 PM. Comparing with the resorts on the area, the balance on price/quality is very good. Kayaks and paddleboats are free and easily available.
Cons: Price of food and beverages, particularly on the beach bar are too expensive, in general all extras are expensive.
Pros: The location was beautiful, as well as being relaxing. The room was fabulously sumptuous. The staff were very efficient and informative. I would most definitely stay at Tamarind Beach Hotel in Canouan again.
family with young children
Pros: Tamarind hotel was a wonderful hotel in a fantastic location. The roomsare all directly facing the ocean front and the constant sound of wavescrashing is mesmerising. The staff are helpful and efficient. We bookedthe same day of our arrival and when we arrived off the fast ferry fromSaint Vincent (which cost $100 ec and took about 1 and a half hour) WeWere Greeted By Hotel Transfer. Canouan is small as you can imagine buta tranquil place and great haven for relaxation!
Cons: Drinks were a bit expensive and likewise for shops on the island so itmight be worthwhile shopping in Saint Vincent before hand as Rooms havea mini fridge. Advisable to have families with young children on theground floor as our last night was slightly spoilt by the constantbanging and running up and down of children. We were with our 3 year oldand had we not been on the ground floor would have asked to move.
Pros: Our elegant wood panelled suite overlooked a perfect caribbean beach. We went to sleep to the sound of the waves through the screened shutters.
Cons: On one occasion during our 6 night stay loud local music started playing nearby keeping us awake until midnight. Not the hotel's fault but unfortunate.
Pros: Peace and quiet, lovely location on a lovely island, staff very friendly and helpful, very tranquil.
Cons: No local excursions by boat on offer.Hotel needs a water taxi attached to it.Charged two lots of service charge in same restaurant for beverage and food.
Pros: Everything about our stay was fantastic! Canouan is a very beautiful island surpassed only by her wonderful people! The people of Canouan are welcoming, friendly, and elegant. We so enjoyed our stay and enjoyed making friends with everyone we met. Would go back in a heartbeat! <3
Cons: Loved everything. One minor suggestion might be for more local cuisine in the resort restaurants and maybe a bit more variety for those staying longer. Having said that, all the food was enjoyable and very artfully presented. We ate there most every meal!
