AAA Editor Notes
Alex Haley Museum and Interpretive Center is at 200 S. Church St. The former home of novelist Alex Haley is open to the public as a museum featuring Haley's work, childhood memorabilia and references to the people who inspired his characters in “Roots.” From 1921 to 1929, and for many summers afterward, Haley lived here with his grandparents; he is buried in the front yard of the home.
The interpretive center focuses on the Pulitzer Prize-winning author's life and career.
