Center for Southern Folklore is at 119 S. Main St. (Peabody Place trolley stop). Exhibits, music, events and tours offer visitors a “Southern experience.” The center houses folk art and photography displays as well as a performance area inside the Folklore storeroom that is the site of blues, jazz, soul, gospel, rockabilly, country and folk music concerts. Guided tours are available. Food is available.
$10. Fees are charged for special programs and tours.
Hours: Folklore storeroom Mon.-Sat. 11-6, Sun. 2-6. Folklore Hall schedule may vary; phone ahead to confirm schedule. Closed Jan. 1, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
