AAA Editor Notes
Slave Haven Underground Railroad Museum, 826 N. Second St., preserves the 1856 home of Jacob Burkle, a German immigrant who provided refuge to runaway slaves. Visitors tour his seven-room house, which served as a way station on the Underground Railroad. A hidden cellar and trap doors reveal the slaves' escape route.
