Fisk University Galleries are on the Fisk University campus near the corner of Jackson St. and Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Blvd. The university library houses The Aaron Douglas Gallery, which features changing exhibitions of African, African-American and European paintings, photographs, prints, sculpture and folk art. Every two years the adjacent Carl Van Vechten Gallery houses a rotating exhibit of the Stieglitz Collection including works by Paul Cézanne, Georgia O'Keeffe, Pablo Picasso and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Guided tours are available by appointment. Guided tours are available.
Carl Van Vechten Gallery $10; $6 (ages 60+); $5 (college students with ID); free (ages 0-18). Aaron Douglas Gallery free.
Hours: Galleries open Mon.-Sat. 10-4 (also Thurs.-Fri. 4-7). Aaron Douglas Gallery hours may vary in summer; phone ahead. Closed university holidays and during exhibit installations.
