AAA Editor Notes
Burgess Falls State Park is 12 mi. n.w. to 4000 Burgess Falls Dr. On the Falling Water River, the park is known for the scenic beauty of its four waterfalls, the last of which plunges more than 130 feet into a gorge. A moderately strenuous 1.5-mi. hike follows the falls. Birding, fishing and wildlife and wildflower viewing are also popular. A butterfly garden is located next to the parking area.
CLOSURE INFORMATION: Due to heavy flooding, the metal staircase to the base of the falls, the main falls overlook and the middle falls overlook are closed.
Picnicking is permitted.
